Conversational English Teacher – Budapest and towns in rural Hungary

Current Openings for  February start:

•  2 bilingual elementary positions in Budapest (Grades 1-8)
• A bilingual elementary and high school in Dorog just north of Budapest
• A bilingual elementary in Mor in west near beautiful Szekesfehervar
• A Protestant elementary in Oroshaza in SE (2 CETP teachers at school)
• A bilingual elementary in Papa in western Hungary
• A preschool/kindergarten in Mosonmagyarovar near Austrian border

The Central European Teaching Program is an all-woman organization gladly accepting men into our teaching family. Established in 1990, we are the oldest and most significant provider of ESL teachers to Hungarian schools. We accept teachers of all ages as long as health  and hearing are good. All applicants MUST be native English speakers and citizens of the US, Canada, the EU or UK, no exceptions.

All placements other than Mosonmagyarovar preschool require a bachelor’s degree as well as TEFL certification. If interested, please send a brief letter of introduction to [email protected], and include your teaching resume. We can then set up a time to talk.

Our program fee for winter semester is $950, and an additional $1200 if you wish to extend for the next academic year. I assure you these are NOT placement fees. We are a full-service organization providing:

1. All residence and work permits to live and teach in Hungary
2. Private fully furnished apartment with utilities paid as part of your salary package
3. Hungarian government medical coverage
4. Several day-long orientation
5. National Hungarian teacher’s salary (currently equates to $650-$1,000/month as US dollar is historically high against Hungary’s currency)

8. Salary through summer months without teaching for those remaining next year
