ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHERS NEEDED FOR TIBETAN COMMUNITY IN NORTH INDIA – volunteer post

TIBET CHARITY is seeking a volunteer to teach ENGLISH to Tibetan adults for our new semester.
The semester runs from 1st June 2023 till 31st Aug 2023.

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the Tibetan community in exile living in India, in the areas of health, education and social welfare.

We are located in Mc Leod Ganj, Dharamsala in Northern India.
It is a truly amazing town, set among the beautiful foothills of the Himalayas.
It is a world center of Tibetan Buddhism, home to the Dalai Lama & 30,000 Tibetan refugees.

WE OFFER

● STRUCTURED SYLLABUS with teachers books

● 2.5 hours teaching a day, Monday to Friday.

● Internet for emails and surfing

● Free lunch on work days. Yes, really! 😉

● Option of staying in a room at the charity itself, & help finding alternative accommodation if that doesn’t suit you.

● Many opportunities for Buddhist teachings, hiking, yoga, day trips, meditation classes, language studies, other volunteering, dining out and much more!

● We cannot pay volunteers. We do not charge them anything and we provide some day trips, but we ask volunteers to meet their own expenses.

● We take the volunteers for a day excursion twice a semester.

Accommodation Facilities:

Earlier we used to provide accommodation to our volunteers for 3 months stay with a local room rent. However, we are extremely sorry for this year as we cannot provide accommodation due to COVID 19 protocols. Hence, selected volunteer is requested to look for the accommodation by themselves.

WHO WE NEED

We are looking for people qualified in teaching English, as a Foreign/Second Language to Adults.

We will also consider candidates with significant experience in different but related to teaching fields, & newly qualified teachers if they are particularly interested in our community.

We prefer people who can commit for the whole semester.
