We are looking to hire an engaging experienced ESL teacher who is creative, organized, and passionate about teaching language and American culture to our international students in downtown San Diego and who can start working immediately. Experience teaching abroad is an advantage, but not required. Candidate MUST have a TESOL, or other ESL certificate and a bachelor’s degree. The teacher hired for this position will be required to:

 

  • Complete daily electronic attendance
  • Lesson plan (according to curriculum)
  • Identify learners needs and support these needs with appropriate activities and tasks
  • Plan excursions with students to promote English learning and engagement
  • Develop students’ presentation skills to promote speaking confidence
  • Be mindful of various cultures and backgrounds while encouraging communication between students and their individual experiences
  • Offer positive encouragement/reinforcement to students
  • Provide productive feedback to improve students’ learning goals
  • Have a solid understanding and routine of classroom management for adult learners
  • Contribute to a positive teaching and learning environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 – $30.00 per hour
