Job description

  • Teach engaging 1:1 online English lessons to adult and/or child learners (mainly based in Europe)
  • Use our provided curriculum, materials, and interactive tools — no need to build lessons from scratch

  • Support students in improving their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, with a strong focus on conversational fluency

  • Lessons are delivered via Zoom

  • Maintain consistent communication and a positive rapport with students

  • Class size: mostly 1:1

  • Lesson length: typically 45 minutes per lesson

  • Students are matched to teachers based on availability and compatibility

  • Opportunities available to teach adults, children, or a mix of both (based on your strengths)

  • Most lessons take place Monday to Friday, 15:00-21:00 SAST (with some morning and weekend hours possible but optional)

  • Light admin required: basic student notes after each class

Job requirements

  • Applicants must be based in South Africa (due to company structure and payment logistics)

  • TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certificate (minimum 120 hours) is required

  • Must have fluent spoken and written English with a clear, neutral accent (Native Speakers)

  • Previous online teaching experience is a strong advantage, but not essential

  • Must have a stable internet connectioninverter/UPS or backup power to manage loadshedding, and a professional teaching setup (quiet space, neutral background, webcam, quality headset)

  • Available to teach during peak hours — minimum availability from 16:00 to 21:00 SAST, weekdays

  • Confident using digital tools and online platforms (we use Zoom and similar)

  • Excellent communication skills, punctuality, and a genuine passion for teaching

  • Friendly, professional, and able to connect well with students of all ages

  • Willing to learn, take feedback, and be part of a supportive tea
