Galapagos Language Academy is located in the town of Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. The academy has been operating for over a decade and, in recent years, has expanded along with the growth of tourism on the islands. Our goal as an organization is to support the local community and provide the opportunity to learn another language. Here on the island, speaking English, German, or French opens many doors for employment and is one of the most sought-after skills by businesses. We also teach other languages, such as Spanish, German, and French.

Qualifications

– A recognized certificate in TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent.
– Your spoken English must be at a native-level standard.
– Experience teaching young learners.
– Strong classroom management skills (very important).
– A minimum of 1 year of experience teaching English.
– Good communication and interpersonal skills.
– Enthusiastic and flexible.
– A communicative, student-centered teaching style
– A positive, flexible attitude and respect for local culture.
In addition to English teaching positions, we are also seeking qualified teachers of German, French, and Spanish.If you are able to teach any of these languages, please indicate it in your application we would be delighted to consider you for upcoming opportunities.

Salary and Benefits

Start Date: May 4th, 2026

End Date: February 28th, 2027

Monthly Salary: USD $950.00 (We must deduct 9.45% from your salary for the payment of the mandatory IESS medical insurance required by law.)

Free Accommodation: Individual or shared apartments

Individual apartments include one bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom.

Work Visa Sponsorship: Fully provided by the academy

Paid Holiday: Two weeks in December

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 30 teaching hours per week

6 contact hours per day, divided into a split shift:

Morning session: approximately 9:00-10:00 a.m.

Afternoon/evening session: approximately 3:00 – 8:00 p.m.
