Warm, Vibrant EFL Teacher Sought in Taipei

We are looking for teachers to join us in Taipei, Taiwan!

The ideal candidate has experience teaching English as a foreign language to children, a warm and vibrant teaching style that is welcoming to young learners, and a collaborative spirit. You will plan and deliver high-energy, interactive, and fun lessons based on our curriculum to students age 12 and younger, grade homework and exams, communicate progress to parents, and provide coverage for teachers as needed. Your schedule will include approximately 24 to 27 teaching hours per week.

Our school is located in Taipei’s affluent Tianmu neighborhood. Tianmu has long been an enclave for expatriates and Taiwan’s elite. It is home to foreign embassies, prestigious international schools, department stores, cinemas, a baseball stadium, import grocery stores, and restaurants. The neighborhood is shaped by Sulfur Creek, myriad parks, and historic hiking trails into the nearby mountains.

Tianmu is served by three stops on the Taipei Metro Red Line. Our school is a 10-minute bus ride or 20-minute walk from Shipai Station. The Red Line connects Tianmu to downtown Taipei, the famous Beitou hot springs, and Tamsui, a popular weekending spot, while 30 bus lines connect you to the rest of Tianmu, other parts of Taipei City, and Yangmingshan National Park.

Compensation and Benefits

• Teaching pay (up to 700 NTD per teaching hour to start), plus 3,000 NTD per month for completing prep work and administrative tasks

Essential Qualifications

• Native English speaker with a passport from a country where English is an official language (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States, etc.)
• Completed university degree (bachelor’s degree or higher preferred)
• Must be able to pass a national-level criminal background check
• Must be able to commit to one year of full-time work
