The ideal candidate would have experience teaching children and a genuine interest in working with this age group. This is a fantastic opportunity for teachers who want to focus on very young learners.
There are clear, specific objectives for every course and student progress towards these objectives is evaluated at the end of each term. The typical class size is 8-10 students. The 5 and 6-year-olds use a program designed around phonics, mixing general English with early reading skills. The 7 to 10-year-olds begin to prepare for official exams.
Onboarding is provided at the start of the course, with professional development sessions throughout the year and continuous support and mentoring from the DoS. There are numerous opportunities for teachers to develop their skills with Cambridge and Trinity exam preparation.
Teachers have access to a wide variety of resources (text and reference books, multimedia material, flashcards, arts and crafts supplies, toys and games etc) as well as laptops, televisions and whiteboards in every classroom. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive and most teachers choose to stay for more than one academic year.
